Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a specific treatment aimed towards an injury, rehabilitation, adhesion’s, tightness or chronic pain.

The focus is determined on the patient’s requirements as overtraining may prevent the muscles to relax, therefore resulting in long-term pain and discomfort.

Under the umbrella of a Sports Massage is “Pre and Post” before & after an event/training session) in which an athlete or somebody who commits to a lot of training, whether it be a boxer, runner, cyclist or a consistent gym goer would benefit from this.

This form of massage can also release your muscles that or unnaturally stuck within a very uncomfortable posture for a long period of time, this occurrence is usually from sitting at a desk, driving or stood on your feet all day.

Some more benefits are:

Maintain the body in overall better condition, Prevent injuries and loss of mobility, resulting in increased mobility and flexibility.

Help and restore mobility to the injured muscle tissue, Boost performance psychically and mentally.

Reduction and breakdown of scar tissue. Reduction of stooped/rounded shoulders, tight or stiff neck, frozen shoulder, sciatic nerve relief. Reduction in lower and upper back pain and hip flexors.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage-Whats involved?

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful treatment for prenatal care. It is a healthy and relaxing way to relieve stress and tension. Pregnancy Massage reduces many of the common discomforts experienced during pregnancy, for example stiff neck, upper and lower back ache, leg cramp, broken sleep, headaches and swelling.

Massage for pregnant women also reduces stress on weight bearing joints, promotes blood and lymph circulation (removal of waste products from the tissues), increases metabolism which is often slowed down due to pregnancy, and helps to relax the body and mind and relieve nervous tension and muscle pain, and also depression or anxiety brought on by hormonal changes.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is completely safe after the first trimester (12 weeks).

Always check with your therapist prior to booking, especially if you have high blood pressure, epilepsy or recent operations.

We want to make sure that you are safe, comfortable and ready to leave the clinic feeling wonderful and energised

Dry Cupping

Dry Cupping is a method that dates back to ancient Egypt and also China.

This method has been practised in many cultures throughout the world to relieve musculo-skeletal symptoms and mobilise myofascial hypomobility.

Dry Cupping is a process in which a dry cup is placed on the effected area and creates a vacuum or suction, drawing out stagnant blood and toxins that remain in the bodys tissues.
The cup or cups are then in place for 3-5 minutes which helps alleviate the tightness, pain and knots which have occurred, the area is then combined with a soft tissue massage to increase blood flow and release and pain and ailments.
Many of the benefits of Dry Myofascial cupping are:
Decreases Anxiety, high blood pressure, knots, muscle pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, insomnia and gout.
Promotes relaxation and improves digestion and overall well being.
The side effects are quite mild, normally resulting in minor circular bruising, (which is a result of the blood being drawn closer the the surface) should disappear within a few days.

Soft Tissue Massage

Soft tissue massage is a wonderfully relaxing technique that focuses on working with a range of depths, pressures and durations of longer, softer massage strokes.

Primarily, the aim is to work with your muscles, tendons, ligaments and is closely related to the techniques used in deep tissue massage.

But with…You guessed it, less pressure!!

Some of the key benefits are:

Aiding in relaxing muscles, Increases blood circulation and lymph flow, Improves the healing time of strained ligaments and muscular tissue, Reduces the inflammation of joints and heart rate, Improves range of motion and joint flexibility, Increases endorphins, Strengthens the immune system, Decreases muscle spasms, Improves oxygen flow, and helps to relieve muscle tension, lowering the stress hormones.

Deep Tissue Massage

The need for a Deep Tissue Massage is normally to combat knots or adhesion’s, tightness, stress and tension build up resulting in a hectic lifestyle or heavy work load

During a Deep Tissue Massage with the deeper focus being on the problem area, there is sometimes an element of discomfort, as the tension/knot/tightness from the initial problem has to be broken down to promote fresh blood flow to help remove the build up of toxins and potential scar tissue.

Communication is key, so please don’t hesitate to tell the therapist if your experiencing any discomfort-and he will happily adjust the pressure to make it as comfortable for you as possible.

Some of the many benefits are:
